Nourish Your Hair Organic Shampoo Ingredients – Organic Soap
Purified Water: refers to all types of water from which chemicals have been removed via a variety of different processes.
Aloe Vera Gel: natural moisturizer from the leaves of Aloe barbadensis lily plants. The gel has been traditionally used for healing and soothing acne, skin burns, cuts and bruises.
Coconut Oil Soap: coconut oil's hydrophobic oil characteristics allow it to inhibit the penetration of water. Coconut oil is able to bind to the natural protein structure of the hair. This helps the hair retain its natural moisture content and reinforces the hair fiber, making it stronger.
Olive Oil Soap: olive oil soap is hypoallergenic, so you are less likely to experience an allergic reaction when using it. Olive oil is a natural source of the antioxidants vitamins E and A, which fight free radicals. Olive oil soap cleans without stripping away the natural oils.
Cocamido Propyl Betaine: natural foaming agent that is gentle on the skin and not irritating to the eyes. It is used widely in baby and no tear cleansers and shampoos.
Vegetable Glycerin: this is a natural byproduct of vegetable oil processing. It is a natural source of moisture and is also useful for helping the skin and hair retain moisture.
Coconut Oil Glucoside: very mild and skin-friendly surfactant, derived from coconut oil and fruit sugar. In hair care products it smooths hair structure to improve manageability. Surfactants also have foaming qualities.
Lotus Blossom Extract: used in products to revitalize and condition hair cells.
Hydrolized Soy Protein: a vegetable source protein that helps hair retain moisture. Hydrolyzed soy protein also adds shine and provides ease of combing.
Japanese Green Tea: according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine, a 2007 study by Korean scientists at the Seoul National University College of Medicine found that epigallocatechin-3-gallat, or EGCG, present in green tea promoted growth of hair follicles and stimulated the human dermal papilla cells to boost hair production.
Hibiscus Leaf: it is claimed to be effective in curbing hair fall and dandruff. According to some, hibiscus is very effective in boosting hair growth. It is also used as a remedy for premature graying and split ends.
Jojoba Oil: this is natural botanical liquid wax obtained from the beans of the jojoba plant, a small shrub that grows in the hot, dry climates of California and Arizona. Native Americans have quietly used jojoba oil for hundreds of years. It protects all the other oils used with it. Protects from rancidity. A natural emollient, jojoba oil’s similarity to sebum allows it to absorb easily and readily into your skin, making it a gentle skin-softening moisturizer for all skin types and can lead to an improvement in both dandruff and acne. It gives strength to hair and makes them breakage resistant by providing them required moisturizer and making them free of split-ends and tangles. New cell growth is promoted that makes the hair stronger and gets rid of dryness and frizz.
Avocado Oil: avocado oil comprises of many beneficial nutrients such as vitamins A, E and D, protein, copper, magnesium, iron, folic acid and amino acids. All these nutrients are vital for hair nourishment and growth. The nutrients in avocado oil benefit the health and growth of all types of hair, particularly dry hair and also other hair types such as afro hair. Mixing avocado oil with other beneficial hair oils like olive oil ensures better hair care.
Essential Oils: natural essential oils are used in Nourish products to provide a pleasant experience while using the products and to minimize any allergenic reactions towards scents or perfumes.
Citric Acid: this is a mild fruit acid commonly used in hair products for its ability to open the cuticle layer and allow deeper penetration of other products that are beneficial to the hair. It is often used in clarifying shampoos and deep conditioning treatments.
